This "hard time" is illustrated by the cramped snow room. The bird symbolizes the light and memory of the good times to come and the ability to keep strong through the tough times knowing what you're fighting for. The eggs are the good times on the horizon. The song is a reminder that no matter what your going though you should always fight to weather the storm because hard times will never last forever.
