She speaks to the reasons why she would take them. The chorus brings home the point, showcase the struggle that she's feeling regarding the matter
The music video, directed by Owen Zubek, premiered on August 26, 2022. It follows the plot of the song, depicting someone struggling with substance abuse. The video starts with her sitting on a bench fiddling with a prescription bottle seemingly conflicted with taking the medication or not. She continues her internal struggles as she gets up for a walk and ends up at a dock where she seems to have come to a conclusion. She throws the bottle in the water however it seems more like a first step as she still appears to be completely contempt with her decision.
Quotable Lyrics
Would it be alright if I let go of myself tonight?
Me, myself, and I
Turned left and lost our right mind, And now I
And now I'm praying for relief just like the desert prays for rain
Built up in my head or is it in my DNA
Oh I know I'd die just to feel alive
